Emily's Story

Change management consultant Emily Arkuss, founder of Sonore Consulting, partners with leaders to build engaged, resilient, a

I understand the challenges, stages, and transformations scaling companies are going through because I spent 15 years in those businesses.

I understand the people-related challenges these companies are going through because I spent 15 years in the Talent side of the business.

From Recruitment to HR to Technical Client Success Management and Implementations, to Talent Advisory and Consulting services, one thing remained abundantly clear: When organizations invest in new technology, systems, or structures, success isn’t just about the plan—it’s about people.

Every major initiative—whether it’s rolling out a new tool, restructuring teams, or modernizing operations—depends on one thing: people actually using and embracing the change.

Why did I decide to focus on guiding clients through the people side of change?  Why did I decide to become certified in Prosci Change Management strategies?  Because I am a quiet force for progress, connector and builder of cohesive strength-based teams that inclusively collaborate and have resilience through change.  I care about human beings at my core and I understand what motivates and demotivates them.

My life itself has been a case study in change management.  As a trailing spouse, I have followed my partner’s career path across several cities where I’ve had to re-build, adapt, and adopt new strategies and mindsets every step along the way.  I’ve also been in your employees’ shoes and have experienced every emotion that accompanies big changes and uncertainty: fear, distrust, confusion, sadness, anger, and figuring out ways to eventually lead myself into awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement.  I also had to figure out ways to keep myself engaged and fill my cup/have fun while making transitions.

I know how hard it can be to bring your employees along and caring for their wellbeing while also driving changes forward because of ambitious goals and limited time and resources.  Leaders shouldn’t do it alone.  I can help, and I can help you keep your employees centered and engaged in the process; they might even enjoy it!

I maintain a grounded, uplifting leadership style, bringing a thoughtful, composed energy in high-pressure settings and fostering an environment where others feel safe to contribute and engage in dialogue.  I believe in leading by example rather than authority and am known for my supportive and steady presence and my approach to bringing rigor without arrogance.  My ability to synthesize information and communicate calmly allows me to steer groups through uncertainty with ease.  I pride myself on my natural empathy that fosters trust and cohesion among peers.  I listen with intention and respond with care, enabling deeper collaboration among groups.
